Move the slider on the lower right of the above map to see the detailed sub-narratives.  Tracking them over time revealed that healthcare AI is the top trending narrative - central to 11.2% of Academic works in the latest measured quarter - up significantly from 3.9% in July 2018.  Note, we've used old data for this study as we have clients paying for analysis that shows up-to-date data.

The ethics of "AI takeover" - is it studied enough?

The good news is that the ethical implications of AI are more researched than they were in 2018.  Roughly double as a percentage of all studies.  The question - should ethics related issues comprise more than the 4.41% of all published academic research on AI in the latest period?  The map provides the empirical basis to have an informed discussion of where things stand.
